1986 Album Series

SCANS

This Album Series was never actually released, even though a large quantity was printed. It is not known why the series was cancelled at such a late date. There is no known album for the series. The unopened pack has five stickers. Like the 1982 Album series, they are printed smaller than normal stickers, 2 1/8" x 3" (normal stickers are 2.5" x 3.5".) There are 77 titles. There was no known checklist published. There were two separate sheets, one with 33 titles, and another with 44 titles. Consequently, full boxes typically have the 33 titles from the one sheet or the 44 from the other. There are five titles with distinct border variations: Fearstone, Mud Magazine, Playbug Magazine, Schnozmopolitan, Bananacin This makes a true count of 82 stickers in this series. Four of these appear together in the top right corner of the 44 title uncut sheet. We speculate that the die-cut was damaged on that corner, and when they repaired it they used slightly different outlines. In 2003 Topps Vault auctioned a 33 title proof sheet and a 44 title proof sheet.
